Armed forces denies assaulting an individual during MCO

The armed forces says the allegations of public beating were false and the images circulated were taken in Bangladesh. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 1, 2020.

THE Malaysian Armed Forces has denied allegations that an individual was beaten and injured by members of the security force implementing the movement control order . Chief of Defence Force Gen Affendi Buang said the allegation was fake news and that those disseminating it could be charged under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1988.
