KOTA KINABALU: Several areas in Sabah will be cleaned up on Saturday (Sept 21) in conjunction with World Cleanup Day, says Trash Hero Borneo co-founder and programme coordinator Anne Maturis

The areas include Pantai Manis Papar from 7am to 9am, Teluk Likas Fasa 2 from 3pm to 6pm, Pantai Sabandar Tuaran from 9am to 11am and Plaza Harbour Mall Sandakan from 3pm to 5pm.

Maturis said the initiative was designed to educate the public on the need to keep the environment clean and the importance of recycling and waste reduction. She is calling on all who are free on Saturday to join the event and to bring their own reusable water bottles. The programme themed ‘Sustaining Kota Kinabalu’s Marine Heritage’ is a continuation of their first collaborative project in August last year.
