Appellate court upholds 6-year jail term on Adam Rayqal’s former babysitter

THE Court of Appeal today upheld a six-year jail sentence imposed on the former babysitter of Adam Rayqal Mohd Sufi Naeif, a five-month-old baby whose body was found in a freezer three years ago.

A three-member bench comprising Hanipah Farikullah, Abu Bakar Jais and Mariana Yahya made the decision after Deputy Public Prosecutor Fauziah Daud decided to withdraw the prosecution’s appeal against the jail sentence handed down by the Shah Alam High Court on Noor Aqilah Abd Rahman, 36.
