PETALING JAYA: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will seek a meeting with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief to discuss reports of intimidation related to its lawmakers.

He said several PKR lawmakers have lodged reports with the police and the MACC as they have been allegedly intimidated to join Perikatan Nasional.

"I will be writing to the MACC chief to seek the opportunity to discuss this.We want the MACC to be an effective agency to fight corruption and not be used as a political weapon," he said in a press conference on Tuesday . On March 7, the MACC confirmed that PKR’s Sekijang MP Natrah Ismail lodged a report over her allegations of being offered a bribe to switch sides.

In a statement, the anti-graft body said the lawmaker went to the Segamat branch office pertaining to allegations of a bribery offer of RM10mil by two individuals who wanted her to switch sides.
