Mohd Anuar Taib akan menggantikan pengasas Sapura Energy Shahril Shamsuddin yang bersara pada Mac tahun depan.
Beliau akan meletak jawatan sebagai presiden dan ketua pegawai eksekutif kumpulan pada 22 Mac, 2021, setelah mencapai usia 60 tahun. Pengerusi Sapura Energy, Shamsul Azhar Abbas dalam kenyataan hari ini berkata, Shahril mengasaskan kumpulan itu daripada kontraktor “diving” kepada sebuah syarikat minyak dan gas bersepadu global seperti sekarang.
“Ini termasuk menjadi sebuah syarikat minyak bebas serantau melalui SapuraOMV, dengan sumber bersih melebihi 260MMboe, menyediakan perkhidmatan sebahagian besar keperluan gas asli di Malaysia,” katanya.
