Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has revealed that his Ministry has never approved any e-hailing service provider in the country to use the price biddi

ng system for passengers. He added that his ministry was not informed about the matter and has since directed the Land Public Transport Agency to investigate the matter.

As reported by Bernama, Loke said that APAD will look into it and iterated that the Transport Ministry has never approved such system. The system is currently being used by some e-hailing services in our country, whereby drivers can set their prices for a journey before customers bid on the fare, provided that they both agree on it.

However, many complained that the system benefits the drivers more as they are the ones setting the initial prices. Furthermore, the system seems to compel passengers to pay higher prices. So, what do you guys think of Loke’s statement? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news.
