MBSA is bringing back its compound reduction campaign for selected offences next month following popular demand.

The campaign offers a flat rate of RM10 for parking compounds and a compound reduction of up to 70% for offences under selected by-laws, such as those on hair salons, parks, vandalism, food establishments, food handling, advertising, hawkers and markets.

“However, some members of the public said they did not have enough time to pay and requested for an extension.Zamani said the October campaign was well-received, with the council receiving about RM2.6mil in revenue from the fines paid. Zamani urged those with outstanding compounds to pay up before stricter action is taken, such as restrictions on businesses or court action.

Payment can also be done at the main counter and drive-through counter at Wisma MBSA in Section 14 as well as MBSA branch offices in Sungai Buloh, Kota Kemuning and Setia Alam.On the impact of the state government’s recent decision to exempt fines for late payment of the second term of assessment tax, he acknowledged that the exemption would affect MBSA’s revenue.
