A woman who filmed herself arguing with the police after she verbally abused a hospital staff member was sentenced to five weeks and five days’ jail and fined S$600 on Wednesday.

KUALA LUMPUR: Another individual overseas could lead to the recovery of 1MDB-linked assets worth millions of ringgit, say the police.) said the individual was identified following the extradition of former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng Chong Hwa.

"Our investigation is headed more towards asset recovery. There are positive signs that we can recover assets both domestically and abroad to the tune of millions of ringgit,” he said.Speaking to reporters at the CCID headquarters on Thursday , Comm Ramli Mohamed added that these assets do not necessarily involve Roger Ng himself but another individual abroad.

April 8 last year, Ng was found guilty by a court in the United States for conspiring to embezzle hundreds of millions of dollars from 1MDB and was subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison in New York. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain had previously urged the public to give the police the necessary leeway to conduct a thorough investigation against the former banker."There is no time frame . So we will continue until we are satisfied because it is the government's and the public’s money at stake," he was quoted saying.
