PUTRAJAYA: The name of the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police is with the Prime Minister, says Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

The Home Minister said as of this moment, the Prime Minister is waiting for the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah."The Police Force Commission short-listed the name to fill the vacant post last week before handing over the name to the Prime Minister. The next step is presenting the name to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,"

"For now, I cannot reveal the name yet. We should all wait for the decision," he added during an interview with The Star on Wednesday . Among the names that have been previously mentioned to assume the post were Bukit Aman Narcotic Crime Investigation Department director Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain and Bukit Aman Logistics department director Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim.
