KOTA KINABALU: Opposition party Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS), led by former foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, is eyeing to form the next state government by looking to contest more than half of the 73 seats at stake.

PCS deputy president Datuk Wilfred Bumburing said that they have already identified candidates for more than 37 seats and would make an announcement as soon as the Election Commission sets the dates for the state election.

Bumburing, former Tamparuli assemblyman and Tuaran MP, recently stepped aside as PCS president to allow Anifah to take the presidency of the mainly Kadazandusun-based party founded in 2013. He said as a local based multi-racial party, PCS was getting growing support from the people of different races, as the party was focused on winning the state government, unlike other opposition parties that contested only certain seats.
