Former foreign affairs minister Anifah Aman is mulling to sue the Election Commission for its failure to conduct Kimanis parliamentary election last year according to the law.
In a statement, his aide James Ligunjang said Anifah's lawyers are studying options that the politician could take after his victory in Kimanis was nullified last week, including filing a judicial review. "After the decision by the Federal Court on Monday, Anifah Aman's lawyers have agreed to look into two follow-up actions.
"First, is whether to file a review application to the Federal Court so that Monday's decision can be set aside. "Second, is whether to claim compensation from EC for damages inflicted by its failure and for being careless in defending the election result from allegations in the election petition," said Ligunjang.an Election Court ruling that nullified Anifah's 2018 victory for the Kimanis parliamentary seat.
