Political analyst Dr Md Ikbal Abdullah said it is likely that a coalition comprising Barisan National and Pas, along with Bersatu, will form the next state government based on the confidence voiced by BN.
Md Ikbal, who is a senior lecturer at the Social Science Department of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, said he foresees two scenarios panning out in Johor following the recent political developments. "The transitional government would than await the outcome of the federal government, for which a new coalition is expected to be formed. The transitional government would then join the new coalition," said Md Ikbal.
"The new Menteri Besar would seek consent from the Sultan of Johor for the dissolution of the State Assembly, leading to a state election.
