Menurut jurucakap Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Sarawak, tiga anak kapal terbabit sedang mengikat tali tongkang apabila tali berkenaan tiba-tiba putus menyebabkan seorang daripada mereka, iaitu seorang pekerja warga asing terhumban ke dalam Sungai Sarawak.

“Dua anak kapal warga tempatan terbabit bagaimanapun cedera ringan dan seorang patah kakinya,” katanya.

Tambahnya lagi, anggota bomba dari Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Tabuan Jaya dan Padungan dikerahkan ke lokasi kejadian selepas menerima panggilan kecemasan sekitar jam 9.10 pagi. “Setibanya di lokasi kejadian, mereka memberikan pertolongan cemas kepada anak kapal tempatan yang cedera yang masing-masing berusia 35 dan 37 tahun sebelum membawa mereka ke hospital untuk rawatan lanjut.
