All migrants checked for Covid-19 before raids, says health D-G

Authorities have been slammed over raids on legal and undocumented persons, which they view could lead to more Covid-19 infections. Raids were carried out at Masjid India and Menara City One yesterday. – The Malaysian Insight pic by Hasnoor Hussain, May 2, 2020.

ALL migrants, both legal and undocumented, have been swabbed for Covid-19 three times during the enhanced movement-control order period, with those testing negative separated for medical treatment, the Health Ministry said. Director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this today when asked on the Immigration Department’s raid and mass arrests of undocumented migrants at Masjid India and Menara City One yesterday.
