PETALING JAYA: Teenager Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam and her father have filed a counterclaim against a former teacher who made lewd jokes in class, claiming she suffered from emotional distress and nervous shock as a result of the incident.Her lawyer Datuk Sankara Nair confirmed the counterclaim filed by the father and daughter.
“Not only has Ain’s legal rights for her safety been violently breached, she has also suffered from extreme fright, sadness, humiliation, anxiety, and the constant threat of violence and personal injuries.” Ain and her father, Saiful Nizam Abdul Wahab, claimed the teacher had made lewd jokes with malice and conducted unreasonable verbal harassment.They also claimed the teacher’s action had violated the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017, among others.
