“Dengan 22 ahli Parlimen, GPS dan Gabungan Sabah boleh memainkan peranan penentu. Jika mereka bersatu, suara mereka lebih kuat bagi menuntut perkara terbaik untuk Sabah dan Sarawak,” katanya.
Angkanya akan jadi lebih besar jika Warisan bersedia menjadi sebahagian daripada langkah ini. Jika mereka boleh saling bersetuju dengan GPS, keadaan akan jadi lebih baik.“Hubungan pusat-negeri mesti baik. Semua orang di Sabah dan Sarawak menunggu untuk melihat perkembangan seterusnya. Hanya Ketua Menteri Shafie Apdal ada membuat kenyataan,” katanya.
Shafie hari ini menyuarakan sokongan kepada Dr Mahathir Mohamad sebagai perdana menteri, dengan berkata, beliau telah menyebutnya sebelum ini bahawa Mahathir harus dibenarkan menamatkan penggal kepimpinan beliau. Katanya, walaupun beliau sedar tentang kemungkinan berlakunya perubahaan di Putrajaya, fokus utama kerajaan Sabah pimpinan Warisan ialah terhadap negeri itu dan rakyat.
