The royal couple’s arrival at Labuan Airport were received by Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof, Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli, Labuan Corporation chief executive officer Dr Fary Akmal Osman and heads of government agencies before departing in a special aircraft at 10am.
Before Their Majesties departure, Al Sultan Abdullah expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, as well reminded the people to preserve unity among races. This is the first visit by Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tuanku Azizah to Labuan after he was installed as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on July 30. During the visit that began on Tuesday, His Majesty officiated the opening of the Kompleks Anak Yatim and Asnaf Darul Kifayah here, as well as attended a ‘meet-and-greet’ session with the public. – Bernama
