KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney General's Chambers will object to Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman 's application for leave to commence judicial review over his claims that the government had pulled its allocation meant for his constituency in Muar.The case was brought up for review before High Court deputy registrar Nurliyana Mohd Jafri on Monday.
Syed Saddiq, the Muar MP, filed the application for leave on April 23, along with three voters in his constituency.Najid is the chairperson of a parent-teacher association at a school in Muar, while Mohd Bakiruddin and Muhamad Fadzly are imams and chairpersons from two different surau in the constituency.The applicants sought a certiorari order to quash a decision by the respondents that halted the balance of RM500,000 from RM1.
In the supporting affidavit, affirmed by Syed Saddiq, the parliamentarian said that on Sept 10, last year, Muda had decided to pull its support from the unity government led by the first respondent.
