African swine fever blamed for Bornean bearded pig deaths

AT least 100 Bornean bearded pigs in Sabah’s forest reserves have been found dead so far, suspected from the African swine fever virus, said Sabah Wildlife Department director, Augustine Tuuga.

Since the discovery of 14 dead bodies in Kinabatangan between December and January, the SWD has been finding at least one dead body a day. Effective July 2018, access to full reports will only be available with a subscription. Sign-up now and enjoy one week free access!
