KUALA LUMPUR: A 24-year-old Indonesian maid, who was allegedly beaten by her employer, has been rescued by the police.The victim was rescued following a raid by the Bukit Aman CID Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants division at a house in Selayang at about 6.15pm on Thursday.
The division principal assistant director Senior Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the police team raided the semi-detached house in an operation codenamed Ops Pintas.“The suspect, who works as an accountant, was brought to the Gombak district police headquarters for an investigation under Section 12 of the Atipsom Act,” he said when contacted.“We believe she was abused by her employer, who slapped her and hit her using a cane.
