7 women win in Sabah polls, including 2 new faces FMTNews PRNSabah

PETALING JAYA: There were a total of seven women who won in the Sabah election yesterday, with Sabah PKR chairman Christina Liew being the most prominent.

As the incumbent, she won the Api-Api seat defeating LDP president Chin Su Phin, PCS deputy president Pang Yuk Min, PBS deputy president Dr Yee Moh Chai, among others. The remaining six candidates also included two new faces, namely Rina Jainal of Warisan and Flovia Ng from Perikatan Nasional-STAR. Rina defeated Barisan Nasional veteran Chaya Sulaiman for the Kukusan seat with the narrowest majority recorded in the polls, 10 votes, while Ng won in Tulid in a seven-cornered fight.

The other four women who retained their place in the Sabah legislative assembly are Julita Mojungki who won in Matunggong; and three Warisan candidates - Norazlinah Arif , Manis Muka Mohd Darah and Jannie Lasimbang .Sabah PKR chief Christina Liew casting her ballot in the polls yesterday,
