This is the 17th day that the number of new cases in Malaysia has remained in double digits.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said as of noon today, 69 new cases have been reported, bringing the total to 6,071. The number of patients who recovered and were discharged is at 39, reversing a recent trend under which the number of recoveries has been higher than the number of new cases.According to him, 12 of the new cases were imported while 57 were locally transmitted.Noor Hisham said that the 103rd fatality is a local man aged 66 with a history of cancer.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced that from May 4 onwards a conditional movement control order would take effect, with some conditions being relaxed.According to statistics released by the Health Ministry, there have been 3,251,925 Covid-19 cases around the world with 233,014 deaths with the United States having suffered nearly 63,000 fatalities.
