Timbalan Menteri Kesihatan, Dr Lee Boon Chye berkata, perkembangan itu dilihat sangat menggalakkan berikutan tahap kesedaran tinggi penerima untuk melakukan saringan kesihatan.
“Perkembangan ini sangat baik kerana dalam masa tidak sampai sebulan dan ia juga sangat menggalakkan, kita yakin dapat mencapai sasaran 800,000 pesakit menggunakan skim ini tahun ini dengan peruntukan disediakan RM100 juta,” katanya. Di samping manfaat utama iaitu saringan kesihatan kepada kumpulan sasar, PeKa B40 juga memberi manfaat lain seperti bantuan alat perubatan, insentif melengkapkan rawatan kanser dan insentif tambang pengangkutan.
