Senior minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the government is working to facilitate the return of Malaysians stranded overseas although travel restrictions remain in many countries.
He said Wisma Putra had also identified 10,484 citizens abroad who might become stranded, comprising those who recently lost their jobs overseas or were finishing their studies. He added that Wisma Putra would present a detailed plan as well as the costs for the repatriation process of these Malaysians.
Of these, only one was taken to hospital while the remaining 1,196 were allowed to undergo home quarantine.
