The programme was held from 10am to 5pm at Pasar Sentosa.

A total of 700 vaccination slots were made available for the one-day programme.“A total of 436 people were vaccinated by the end of the day,” said Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran.

“The programme is open to those who haven’t received their first vaccination, including foreigners without valid documentation.” He said some Malaysians turned up for the programme because they had rejected their earlier appointment as the venue was too far away for them to get there. He added that there were people who after turning 18 recently, had come for their first vaccination. Those who missed their appointment for their second shot can contact the Selangkah hotline to get the jab at a designated clinic, said Rajiv, adding that the next appointment would be issued via the Selangkah app or physical card.

Some 40 staff and volunteers from Selcare, Selangkah, Rela and Bukit Gasing assemblyman’s office were on hand to ensure the standard operating procedure was adhered to. “To create awareness of the mobile vaccination programme, my team and I went around several business areas in Section 17, posted notices on social media and informed non-governmental organisations that deal with migrant workers or refugees,” said Rajiv.“The first was by appointment using Selangkah where some 1,200 people turned up, the second was via a joint walk-in session with three other Petaling Jaya state constituencies.
