RIYADH: Kira-kira 400,000 orang dianggarkan menunaikan ibadah haji tanpa memiliki permit yang sah bagi musim haji kali ini.“Kebanyakan mereka adalah datang dari sebuah negara,” katanya yang merujuk Mesir kepada AFP.
Setiap tahun, puluhan ribu jemaah cuba menyertai Haji melalui saluran yang tidak sah kerana mereka tidak mampu membayar permit rasmi yang mahal. Jelasnya, kumpulan itu terdedah dengan cuaca panas kerana tanpa permit rasmi mereka tidak dapat mengakses ruang berhawa dingin yang disediakan untuk 1.8 juta jemaah haji bagi menyejukkan badan.
Berdasarkan pengiraan AFP, lebih separuh daripada jemaah tidak berdaftar menunaikan ibadah haji dalam suhu panas melampau di Arab Saudi, melibatkan jemaah dari Mesir.
