35 test positive for drugs, arrested after raids at entertainment outlets in KL

City Narcotic Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Adnan Azizon said the raids were conducted at outlets near Jalan Tun Razak and Medan Imbi early Sunday . "We first raided the outlet near the Terminal Bus Pekeliling at Jalan Tun Razak at around 2.30am. "Personnel from NCID, CID and Integrity and Standard Compliance Department checked 30 individuals of whom, 18 tested positive for methamphetamine and benzodiazepines," he said in a statement on Sunday.

He said they arrested the 18 including one Orang Asli woman, eight Indonesian women and nine Indonesian men. "We arrested 17 of them including 10 local women and seven local men and seized 0.2g of ketamin. "Those arrested tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol and ketamin," he said, adding that all those detained were brought to the Dang Wangi lockup for further action. He said police would continue to conduct such raids to weed out drug offences in the city.
