Update: Bethesda QA devs across the US have voted 'overwhelmingly' in favor of unionizing, forming the largest union yet at a major gaming company.

had to contend with long periods of crunch and even health issues allegedly stemming from the prolonged periods of being overworked. Through their new union, called ZeniMax Workers United, the group said it wants to address problems around scheduling, pay, and accountability by management.

The CWA announced its support for the merger as a result of the move, which comes as unionization efforts ramp up in other parts of tech as well, including at Apple and Google. But the real test of Microsoft’s enlightened stance on labor organizing will come at the bargaining table when ZeniMax workers seek to negotiate pay, benefits, and other working conditions as part of their first contract.

adelaidejewel Honestly surprised they use US-based QA. Figured it was penny-labor from Argentina or something similar.

But but but, the FTC said Microsoft acquiring companies would hurt workers! Could it be… does the FTC…have no fucking idea what they’re talking about? 🤔

This will lead to either the most polished or most broken game yet.

nice!

FeoUltima THAT'S GREAT MORE UNIONS

Bethesda, QA? They're *both* unionising? I thought one was on long term sick and the other on a career break...
