SIBU: A total of 250 people with special needs have been vaccinated at the Agape Centre here on Wednesday (June 16).

Welfare, Community Well Being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said the programme was only for individuals with special needs aged 18 and above."This vaccination programme is the first in the state. Our two main focuses are on vaccinating 18-year-olds with special needs and also to get as many vaccines as possible as we aim to vaccinate 750 people in three days' time," she said.

However, more attention and care were needed for individuals with special needs as they had a fear of needles. Her ministry, she said, wanted other divisions in the state to have a similar programme, especially in Kuching which has a number of associations for people with special needs.
