Pengarah Pendidikan Perak, Dr Mohd. Suhaimi Mohamed Ali berkata, penutupan itu membabitkan 137 sekolah di bawah Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Larut Matang Dan Selama dan 71 sekolah di bawah PPD Kerian.
Selain itu, beliau berkata ia turut melibatkan 38 sekolah di bawah PPD Kuala Kangsar dan empat sekolah di bawah PPD Hulu Perak. "Penutupan kesemua 250 sekolah berkenaan melibatkan seramai 88,028 murid," katanya dalam satu kenyataan di sini hari ini. Berdasarkan portal Sistem Pengurusan Indeks Pencemaran Udara Malaysia , bacaan Indeks Pencemaran Udara di Taiping berada pada paras tidak sihat iaitu 139 setakat pukul 7 pagi ini.
Hari ini, 303 sekolah di daerah Manjung, Hilir Perak, Bagan Datuk dan Perak Tengah dibuka semula berikutan kualiti udara di kawasan itu bertambah baik. - BERNAMA
