Students returning home for Aidilfitri will have to report back to campus from May 15 to May 20.
JOHOR BAHRU: More than 800 students of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia have expressed their intention to return home for the Aidilfitri celebration. Its deputy vice-chancellor Prof Shamsul Sahibuddin said this was based on special forms filled up by 25% of the 3,200 students in the campus. “The university has decided to allocate six buses to carry students home to the east, north and central zones and four buses to the south zone.This follows the higher education ministry’s announcement on Thursday that more than 100,000 students from higher learning institutions throughout the country, except Sarawak, would be allowed to return home for Aidilfitri.
The ministry said students would be going home in stages between May 7 and May 12, before reporting back to campus between May 15 and May 20.
