Motorists in Sabah and Sarawak, meanwhile, will continue to enjoy a fuel price ceiling of RM2.08 per litre for RON95 and RM2.18 per litre for diesel, said Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in his 2020 Budget speech today.
“Individuals who own no more than two cars and two motorcycles are eligible to receive PSP for one vehicle. All luxury vehicles will not qualify to receive the targeted subsidies,” he said. The first category is ‘Bantuan Sara Hidup’ . Eligible car owners will receive a RM30 monthly subsidy, while motorcycle owners will receive RM12.
He said the subsidised fuel is limited to 100 litres per month for cars and 40 litres per month for motorcycles when purchasing RON95 at petrol stations.Upon commencement of the fuel subsidy scheme, RON95 and diesel retail prices will be gradually floated, said Lim.
