Menurutnya, mangsa yang maut dikenal pasti adalah pemandu Nissan Murano itu, Ahmad Roshidi Halim, 51, dan penumpang belakang, Rajhan Ibrahim, 56."Ahmad Roshidi dan Rajhan adalah dari Alor Setar, Kedah manakala Mohd Wari pula dari Kangar, Perlis dan mereka itu dipercayai rakan perniagaan," katanya. Menurutnya, kemalangan itu dipercayai berlaku apabila SUV berkenaan gagal dikawal sebelum merempuh pembahagi jalan dan terbalik.Sementara itu, Pegawai Perhubungan Awam Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia Pahang Anuar Hassan berkata, enam pegawai dan anggota Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Taman Tas bergegas ke lokasi kejadian sebaik menerima panggilan kecemasan.
Menurutnya, setibanya di tempat kejadian didapati tiga lelaki terbabit dalam kemalangan itu dan dua daripadanya sudah meninggal dunia. "Kami bertindak membawa keluar mangsa yang maut dan diserahkan kepada pihak polis untuk tindakan lanjut," katanya.
