Naib Cancelor UMS, Prof Datuk Dr Taufiq Yap Yun Hin berkata, semua penuntut itu membabitkan mereka yang pulang daripada bercuti dan ada rekod menerima lawatan ahli keluarga dari China.
“Kami meminta penuntut-penuntut itu tinggal di rumah dan pemantauan dibuat setiap hari bagi memantau keadaan mereka selain memberi mereka motivasi. “Setakat ini semuanya baik-baik sahaja,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas menyampaikan amanat kepada warga UMS di Dewan Canselor UMS, di Kota Kinabalu, semalam.“Semua mereka adalah bebas daripada sebarang jangkitan Covid-19,” katanya.
Dalam ucapannya, beliau berkata, sebelum isu Covid-19 tersebar, UMS menerima kehadiran sehingga 1,000 pelancong setiap hari, namun kini berkurangan.“UMS berhasrat menambah dua lagi pusat tarikan pelancongan baharu tahun ini iaitu Galeri Azman Hashim dan Pusat Sains UMS,” katanya.
