These MPs denied that they had lost confidence with Umno, and addressed a claim of them being confused due to the party leaders having lost their way.
“The meeting was instead, specifically to discuss issues in the respective seats and also to ensure that all of the needs of the people are fulfilled. “However, if any PH leader is willing to join Umno and Barisan Nasional after realising that the people have turn their backs on them and that they have lost confidence with the PH administration, our door is open for them,” they said in the statement.
On Friday, Prime Minister and PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said several BN MPs had asked on the possibility of jumping ship and expressed support for him.
