The Senior Minister said the returnees were placed at 69 hotels and five public training institutes for mandatory quarantine."So far, 7,469 people have been discharged from the quarantine centres and allowed to go home," he said in a statement on Saturday .
Those involved returned from 32 countries, including the United States, New Zealand, France and Australia, he added. On another matter, Ismail said nine construction sites followed standard operating procedures , one did not do so, while another was not in operation following checks on Friday. Meanwhile, the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry performed daily checks on 12 essential items at 709 business premises, he added."The ministry officers performed SOP checks on 1,536 premises. All adhered to SOPs except for seven premises," he said.
He urged traders and members of the public to maintain social distancing and personal hygiene especially when purchasing items.
