PUTRAJAYA: Police arrested 104 individuals on Monday (Aug 3) for various recovery movement control order (MCO) violations, including breaching quarantine orders, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Defence Minister said five of those arrested were remanded while the rest were issued with compounds.

“Apart from one person who violated the quarantine order, police also took action against premises for operating beyond permitted hours and for failing to practise physical distancing, ” he said on Tuesday . Ismail also reported enforcement activities by the taskforce on compliance with standard operating procedures carried out on Monday.

The taskforce of 12,841 personnel, led by the police, monitored and checked activities at 4,009 supermarkets, restaurants , hawker centres , factories , banks and 921 government offices nationwide.
