Dan Giannopoulos
I began to photograph them in situ throughout the duration of the 30-minute walk. These disposable gloves quickly came to represent the sheer scale of the public health crisis. The gloves had gathered in gutters, protruded from bushes and bins, were strewn on doorsteps and forced through wire fences. I couldn't walk more than a few metres without finding one. And over the course of the next four days I continued to go out for my permitted daily exercise and zigzagged through my neighbourhood again and again focusing each time on a different area.Covering a radius of less than a mile, I found in excess of 300 discarded gloves and masks.
Saw a mask float by the swans and ducks at St James park. Gloves all over my street. Someone is getting paid very little to pick up these possibly contaminated items and putting themselves at risk.
I've been told gloves are useless because the virus does not penetrate your skin. You need to wash your hands to prevent the virus getting in your eyes, nose or mouth. Do you know what's the logic behind the idea of wearing gloves? Would be better to wear a helmet then...?
Fed up of people who do stuff like this - selfish and lazy
Until there is clear, ongoing public health education and information, across many media platforms, this is to be expected. You can't expect people to know this stuff.
And the idiot who used them probably hasn’t any idea of what protection they provide, saw one of them answering her mobile wearing her contaminated gloves. People need to think about what they are doing and how they can protect themselves, gloves have limitations.
Dan for your next project you should take pictures of the bags of dog 💩 owners leave everywhere
Yes I’m afraid we a people in this country who do not give a damn, litter louts with gloves and a real problem with fly tipping.
Seen a few now myself as well as other rubbish getting scattered about because councils started cutting bin collections and shutting recycling centres. I am not surprised. For now just put the lot in landfill as has been done for years before the eco thing came in.
Why don't people get some nappy sacks(they are cheap) or dog poop bags, carry some with them, when they are finished with gloves put them into bag and dispose of them sensibly.
Looks like a bunch of litter bugs 😀 Seriously, I am so grateful for all the men and women fighting to help our sick. God bless and keep them safe.
Why don’t they disinfect them and use again? Surely there must be a way
What Virus?
Its disgusting. Last time when I took a trolley at Tesco there were Blue gloves with some dirty tissue in it. It makes me think what would be the mental state of those people who act so irresponsibly😔
Geez did the barrels get taken away
No it just means there all scruffy lazy bastards that live in that part of Nottingham.
Really awful they should be banned
