Tributes to Irishman Brendan Wall who died in Ironman double tragedy

This is the tragic Irish man who died after getting into difficulty during the Ironman swimming event in Cork.Canadian native Ivan Chittendon from Toronto also died in a horror medical emergency during the swimming event.Mr Wall was recently engaged and had told pals of his engagement to his partner in a heart-breaking social media post in May of this year.

He is also survived by his parents Oliver and Gertrude , brothers Martin and Joe, sister Maria , sisters-in-law, Denise and Sinead, brother-in-law, Paddy,nieces Casey, Aine and Lauren, nephews Daryl, David and Noah, aunts, uncles, relatives and a large circle of friends. The tributes come as Finance Minister and local TD Michael McGrath said that the full facts surrounding the deaths must be established.

“I’m very conscious that two people have just died yesterday and first and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with the families. They must be in a terrible state of shock and mourning at this time.
