Taoiseach Micheal Martin vows to change law that restricts reporting on murdered children

Taoiseach Micheal Martin has promised that the Government will change the law that stops the media identifying children who have been murdered.

Several grieving families, who have had a relative or child killed, say it prevents them from keeping the memory of their loved one alive. When asked about the matter, which has left the media unable to identify children who have been victims of murder, the Taosieach said Justice Minister Helen McEntee is working on rectifying this.

A mother whose children had been murdered has said the ruling by the Court of Appeal on the Children Act silences her.
