The Chief Medical Officer has said the changes to to close contact rules should stay in place until the end of February COVID19Ireland

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said employers should not dock workers’ pay if they can only provide a positive antigen and couldn’t avail of a PCR.

“We have all worked in good faith and collectively and employees should be facilitated in those situations particularly employees bringing forward positive tests. He said the high case numbers in recent weeks was anticipated and said the current testing regime is “quite phenomenal.”“I would, anyone that would objectively look at it would have to come to that conclusion in terms of the ramping up that has occurred.

The changes brings an end to the five day isolation period for fully vaccinated close contacts who do not have any Covid-19 symptoms.
