Ireland could be set for stormy weather this coming weekend should an area of low pressure near Iberia move this way over the coming days

Stormy weather could batter parts of Ireland this coming weekend should an area of low pressure near Iberia move this way over the coming days.

"The ECMWF is somewhat less enthusiastic . Not only will this bring the risk of some very strong winds, but some unusually warm air moving N across Iberia, France & into parts of SE England, very windy across potentially across parts of Ireland, SW England, GFS Ensembles suggest that the Operational run is quite deep vs the Ensemble, but needs watching," said Mr. Blight.

Meanwhile, Met Eireann said the weather forecast over the coming days would remain unsettled and warned of potentially "blustery" conditions and heavy rain and thundery downpours starting on Friday.Met Eireann national forecast: Wednesday: Will start off mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, which will gradually clear northeastwards, but will linger in northern areas. Brighter weather will follow from the southwest for a time. But more rain will move up over Munster in the evening.

Fresh and gusty southeast winds will develop during the course of the day. Breezy on Thursday night with outbreaks of rain clearing north to scattered showers. Minimum temperatures of 7°C to 10°C with fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds.
