Taoiseach and Tánaiste have questioned planned ‘steep increase’ in toll-road charges but Minister for Transport has expressed no criticism

The timing of the motion has put pressure on the Cabinet to give a formal Government response to the decision and to indicate what action, if any, it will take to address the cost implications of the increase for motorists.

Sinn Féin’s spokesman on transport, Darren O’Rourke said on Sunday: “The price hikes will hit people’s pockets at a time when their finances are already under unprecedented pressure due to the cost-of-living crisis. These price hikes must not go ahead. Mr O’Rourke argued that the private operators of the tolls were making millions of euro in profit. He said the operator of the M3 toll had reported €11 million in profit from the previous year.

Sinn Féin TD raised concern over site for refugee homes and warned of possible ‘serious divisions in our community’A Sinn Féin TD raised concerns that a proposed site for modular homes for refugees in West Dublin was unsuitable and warned the plans “would have the potential to cause serious divisions in our community”. Ahem are you neglecting the fact numerous residents also raised concerns as to did residents in Kill, Kildare. It's fascinated me how not one Irish Media outlet or fiannafailparty FineGael or greenparty_ie politician hasn't called out this discriminatory housing notion Why are the Irish government falling over themselves to give 'refugees' homes while the native Irish are either going homeless or emigrating ? It's been 100 years since the last civil war. EastWall Stick the modular homes in the green area behind Georgian village and see how the locals respond. 🍿
