Migrants Rights Centre Ireland has said at least 12% of those coming to it for help are falling just outside the scheme's eligibility criteria.
Justice for the Undocumented, a group made up of over 3,000 undocumented people, campaigned with the Migrant Rights Centre Ireland for 11 years for the rights of undocumented workers and families to be recognised. MRCI caseworker Rhye Reid, who has been supporting applicants who wish to apply to the scheme said they have been very busy in recent weeks, with many new faces presenting to the office on Dublin's Dorset Street."The three main things that are stopping people from applying have been the high fees, so its €550 for an individual or €700 for a family... , the documents to provide, including passports and residency documents and then the third one is just fear," Rhye Reid said.
Mr Bruton said that around 5% of the people MRCI is seeing are"falling between the two schemes, so they have some time in asylum and sometime undocumented" but have failed to meet the threshold for either scheme.
And thanks to justice minister
The great irony, Helen 'Zero Tolerance for CRIME' McEntee gives Illegal Immigrants Amnesty. Lie about your identity, lie about your nationality, lie about your marital status, number of Children, et etc : NO Problem. Heres your papers and a route to citizenship..🤔
HMcEntee No amnesty for illegally coming to Ireland Deport now. There is no constitutional process for illegals to be recognised, it's closer to the opposite given the 2005 referendum
Good.. Round them up and deport the lot of them.
And I'd say 98% of them have gold teeth and sell 'big issue' magazine 😂😂😂... good ole Ireland - the EUs' personal toilet 😂👍
paullewismoney 7200 illegals!!!! Great system!!! Unbelievable !!!!
Why will foreigners not respect/recognize the fact that the word 'scheme' has taken on a completely negative connotation in The Empire. please use 'plan' or 'concept'. 'Scheme' now indicates trickery or crime. tanks! pixieinfo
Why are they undocumentated? They are obviously criminals on the run. Our jails are full of them. 95% of the crimes reported by is committed by ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Wouldn't you think they be grateful? F**kin scumbags. Imported by simoncoveney HMcEntee
How many “more than” 7,200 applicants? 100? 2,000?
Undocumented? Seriously we have to get a grip on this problem. Allowing unchecked, unscreened migrants enter our country must stop. Time to change the system.
Sounds like giving citizenship to those who failed to prove they were in fear for their lives in their home country.
Worst Justice Minister ever.
Lot of nurses in nursing homes are illigal.. Remember this if u are there in your old age getting your arse wiped
*illegal migrants
Once reguralised can family members join them here? That could be over 35000 people.
How many criminals and sex predators are within the ranks of these undocumented illegal economic migrants? Since they are unvetted, we just don't know since they are unvetted HelensFelons HMcEntee
Shhhhhhhh!!!! if they make themselves documented, then the government can locate and deport them! 😂😂🤣😇🤣😂😅
RTE heedlessly and probably without even noticing it using language of the US Democrats. They're illegal migrants.
The Government has put everyone in danger the fascist bastards
CayeHyland Deport the lot
Yet , government can’t fix this , and none of those 7,200 are living on the street . Makes you think who we care more about
Not undocumented, just plain illegal economic migrants most of whom lied to get here.
Illegal aliens you mean just like the Irish in the states if your there illegally it proves you have no respect for the countries laws so should be turfed out
Undocumented? You mean illegal so why arent they deported?
But but but......kebabs!
'undocumented' wudja just f**king stop RTE
And how they managed to enter the country with no documentation?
Are they working
Ah sure, you might as well take the door off the hinges. Let them all in. Nobody's even pretending to mind the shop anymore.
On average, each aslyum seeker that is granted residency brings an average 20 relatives each.
Illegal immigrants.
That’s one way of tackling the problem...
Come to Ireland, break the law, get rewarded.
Just use the word “illegal” FFS
Illegal immigrants.
Sooooo criminals yeah?
IRISH PADDY living on the bridge WHO CARES FOR HIm ? ireland
Probably working at jobs that Irish won’t do. Also thousands of Irish people worked illegally in the US before Morrison and Donnelly visa’s arrived in the 80’s and I was one of them. Paid taxes too.
What do you expect from a weak gutless government
Illegal 👌🏻
7,200 people who knowingly broke the law for years or decades are being rewarded by the state - better headline.
Crawling out from the underground of prostituting, theft, fraud and deception
Illegal the word is Illegal
Deport. HelensFelons
How many are before the courts at this time ?
Justice for the undocumented? Deportation. We've gone from fighting to establish a country to allowing people who illegally enter to remain.
You mean 'illegal' and non vetted?
Our of an estimated 30k?
No way, happily accept them legally or send them on their way.
Break the law and get rewarded, great.
In the middle of a housing crisis, a homeless crisis and a migrant crime crisis, this is a disaster waiting to happen. HelensFelons
If the wife of any president on the planet caused an uproar you would report it. Why not ours?
We are a tiny country, how much more can we take. FF & FG need to be voted out, they have destroyed this country. They are not listening to any of the concerns from the public. Any other party please, let’s give someone else a chance. Can’t fuck it up anymore than those wankers
They must not be undocumented, what possible reason would there be for that ? 🤔
All with no background check, 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫
Numbers are high. ....
Rewarding those breaking the law ? stunning and brave
