RTE legend Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh sadly dies, aged 93

He passed this morning in the Mater Hospital, Dublin.

Opening up about his career on TV and radio, Mícheál previously told RSVP Magazine: "I began commentating in 1949 so it was a long time until 2010. I decided to be nice to witness matches while not working. Other than this year, I have gone to all the matches. "He is involved the world over and he could be calling South Africa or New Zealand. I have a son who is a doctor in Singapore and I have a daughter in Germany. I also have a daughter working in Beaumont Hospital and my youngest works as a physio here in Kerry."
