is back on screens this evening for the first of two nights with Kathryn Thomas joining Daithi O Se as the show’s first-ever co-host.
Throughout Monday and Tuesday, 32 roses from Ireland all around the world will take to the stage at the Kerry Sports Academy at Munster Technical University in Tralee to compete for the coveted title. The 32 entries represent a number of counties throughout Ireland as well as US states and other countries.Kathryn Thomas says co-hosting Rose of Tralee with Daithi O Se was never a thorny issue for the pair
The festival is now in its 63rd year and will be broadcast live on RTE One and on the RTE player beginning at 8pm, with a break for the Nine O'Clock News on both nights. Alongside the competition, there are also live concerts, street entertainment, a circus, markets, a funfair, fireworks and the renowned Rose Parade taking place in Kerry over the weekend as part of the festival.. In 2021 it announced that married women were able to enter the festival as well as transgender women and the maximum age for entries was raised to 29.
