To date at least nine men have claimed they were sexually abused by the same former senior figure, with the alleged abuse reported to have taken place from the late 1960s to the late 1990s.
The organisation previously said its board had committed to publishing the report, after “obligatory legal scrutiny is conducted”. Mick Finnegan, the first alleged survivor to come forward publicly, said he was feeling “numb” at the news the independent investigation had been completed. Earlier this month, the Seanad passed a cross-party motion calling for the report to be published by St John Ambulance without delay.
