Sarah and Luke planned their dream wedding abroad at the picturesque Masia Cabellut, a Spanish villa surrounded by a private vineyard.

From a spectacular Gaudí-esque ceremony to a poolside gastronomical reception, their day was truly magical.Luke, and the weather, took me by surprise on March 4, 2023. Luke and I were away for a weekend in Vermont staying at the Grafton Inn and unknown to me, Luke had shipped an engagement ring from Chicago to the front desk.

The father of the groom, Seamus Briody, spoke next and welcomed Sarah into the Briody family with open arms. Megan Kenny, the maid of honour and Sarah’s older sister brought the room to tears with a beautiful speech that commented on how closely intertwined both families already are. Luke was next and opened his speech with lyrics from his favourite Zach Bryan song, an artist that both Luke and Sarah love and recently saw live in Brooklyn, NY.

The dinner menu started with marinated salmon and king prawns and was followed up with tender beef or wild sea bass in a coconut sauce. The dessert was a showstopper with each guest getting an alternate of the Sacher Bean or Happy Egg . They decided against a wedding cake and opted for a cava tower instead. We built a stellar playlist that we shared with the band and DJ. The bandwere excellent and we had seen them at a friend’s wedding the year before and knew they were the best choice.

was excellent. The wedding invites had three elements, an invitation, a timeline of events, and a little “keepsake” – a cloth-printed map of the key places from the wedding weekend. We incorporated a “wavy” design and pops of pink and lemon yellow across all of the decor elements to tie everything together. There was a lot of effort put into the details, and for me, it was so worth it.

Plan some photos. I had seen some epic wedding pictures on Pinterest and Instagram and shared them with the photographers for inspiration ahead of time. The bridal party did a “succession” style photo which I adore, there is also a photo of my mom and I facing each other and my dad after the “first look” which turned out amazing and were all inspired by other bridal photos I had seen online. Those who couldn’t physically be there.
