Teachers’ unions have concerns over the plan but issues can be ironed out

There is also a concern that the Leaving Cert written exams will go ahead without any major modifications. Teachers say additional choice or fewer questions are needed, in light of the disruption to students’ education. It’s certainly possible that some detail will change – but the overall structure looks set to remain. It will be in the interest of most students to opt for both: calculated grades and sitting the exams.

They are due to take place over the Easter holidays and potentially beyond this point. Schools will be required to source qualified teachers to administer them orals which will be recorded and uploaded to the State Examinations Commission. Coursework and projects will continue as normal, with additional time provided.

Only five major typos in this latest IT article!!! Instead of campaigning for an end to exams, they should be leading the clamour for the reintroduction of basic spelling and grammar!

So the LC course is carried out over two years - vast majority in 5th yr with remainder plus (mostly) revision in 6th yr. Are we saying the students should be expected to do an almost-normal LC exam despite having missed 1/3 of the entire two years in school? Why force the exam?

Fuck sake this can't be derailed now its too close to june now

We're using the word 'plans' very loosely here
