Protesters stage bingo games outside Leinster House - slamming 'crazy' proposed gambling laws

Protesters converged on Leinster House this morning rallying against "crazy" and proposed gambling legislation.

Among them was Social Democrat Roisin Shortall and Kerry TD Michael Healy Rae who called out games of bingo, while reportedly offering a copy of his book as a prize. The Bingo Players’ Association believes strict new rules if the law passes could see every games hall in Ireland shut down overnight. Ms Reilly slammed the Taoiseach over the proposed changes saying many people will lose their only social outlet should bingo halls close across the country whcih she says willhave a major impact on people’s mental health.

"The amount of people at the protest today shows just how important bingo is to the people of Ireland."
